Departure for Japan - Season 2

Hey there, it's go again!

With my master SSI in hand, I try the adventure and will look for a job in Tokyo.

I only have 3 months (duration of a tourist VISA) to find something suitable for me!

My departure is scheduled for 11:35 p.m. tomorrow on the flight AF0278, in a 777-300ER where I surreptitiously booked a place near the emergency exits, very useful site .

As usual (after 3 times it becomes a habit, sisi) I will share my adventures and pictures on this blog.

Do not hesitate to take a ride on a regular photo gallery and subscribe to the RSS feed .

See you soon on this blog for more!

On the way back 2

We left Quebec with Jeremiah this morning, leaving behind Fred and Thibaut. Snif ...
We drove all day. We went through winding roads and rundown. There was a little wrong turn so we improvised. I can not tell you the condition of the car. We did not even see the license plate so it was dirty.
We arrived in Moncton around 20:30 and we rented a room in an EconoLodge. It advises against this chain because it is expensive and not great. I suspect the maids to return the sheets instead of washing them.
The problem of the evening was "how to get tomorrow in Shippagan," knowing that there is no public transport. It was thought to take a taxi but when we were told the price ($ 240) it has changed his mind. We used our knowledge and finally, the father of a student of Shippagan (they do not know) is the return-Shippagan and Moncton tomorrow may bring us back. It is very lucky!
Tomorrow morning we will wash the car a bit and make it. Then we will travel to Moncton Airport to be picked. Then back to Ship '.

On the way back

We flew from Toronto to Quebec this morning. We made an 8 hour drive in total. We stopped in the morning because I managed to get your fingers caught in the window of the car but with ice, the pain is gone.
We arrived in Quebec around 18:30. We repeated the same hotel as last time because it was not bad and not very expensive.
We went for a drink and play pool at the hotel bar and then we went to eat sushi downtown.
Fred and Thibaut have their plane Saturday morning at the Quebec airport. They planned to go shopping in the mall next to the hotel. Jeremiah and I are returning to Moncton tomorrow. We will leave early because we have again an 8 hour drive to. We need to own the car for Saturday morning (she is a mess). Then we take a taxi to Moncton Shippagan.
Here, the road trip is over. Tomorrow we part, sniff ...

Niagara Falls USA and

This morning we left for Niagara Falls. It was not very good unfortunately. Once there, we were disappointed. It was impressive because the water flow is very high but 1/2 hour we saw the falls. We took many pictures. All around, it is with concrete buildings and souvenir shops. In summer it must be even more beautiful, but there must be many.

After that, we decided to go to the United States because it was just a few kilometers. The border crossing was quite long because we had to explain why we came to the territory, put our passports in order. It took us about 1/2 hour. Then we could enter the State of New York and we went to the nearest big city, Buffalo. It was pretty strange. It was dirty, not very nice. It seemed empty, poor. We have a very long time to find food. We did not stay long. Just before the border, we went to a mall to spend some U.S. dollars we had left.
We returned to Toronto around 19:30 for a break at the hotel and then out in town for the evening.

Tomorrow we're going to leave Toronto and Quebec.

Toronto, CN Tower

We left Kingston this morning but we have not taken the time to visit. We went straight to Toronto.
The hotel is quite far from downtown because Toronto is a very big city. At first glance, it sucks a little. We went through a bit shabby neighborhoods by joining the center. There was a lot of traffic. We have one hour to 13 km.
We went to the CN Tower, the emblem of Toronto. This is the second tallest tower in the world after Dubai. It reached 553.33 meters. We started with the gazebo located at 351 meters and then the glass floor just below 342 meters. It was very impressive. The elevator was very fast. For me who am dizzy it was quite difficult. I have not been able to walk on the glass floor because we can see just below the void. Fred and Jeremiah went to the car to 447 meters.
Jeremiah had an appointment on Skype in the evening then Thibaut, Fred and I stayed in town. We went to the Air Canada Center which played a hockey game but we did not have tickets, unfortunately. Then we walked and then we started looking for a restaurant. We chose to eat French. It was not bad. According to Thibaut, what's the best restaurant we have done since the beginning of the road trip.
Tomorrow we will see the falls that are still to 142km of Toronto.
We do not have time to go to New York because we need a day (Thursday) to return to Quebec for Thibaut and Fred take their plane and another day (Friday) to Quebec-Moncton. Jeremiah and I have to make the car on Saturday before noon. Program: 1500 km in two days.
In the meantime, you can enjoy. It's nice!

Program Change: bye bye Ottawa, stop in Kingston

Last night we returned to the movies because there is not much to do in Ottawa, and we saw Shutter Island. We all enjoyed it. Sometimes it was hard to understand because it was in English.
This morning we visited the Parliament. It was very interesting. Most impressive was the library which turned out to be beautiful. Unfortunately, the photos of this room are not allowed on weekdays when staff work.
After that we went to eat at the mall and then we parted. The guys went to the war museum and I went shopping because there is plenty to do in Ottawa. An hour later, they called me to tell me that on Monday, all museums are closed and they had chosen to shorten our stay in Ottawa and to leave the hotel and travel to Kingston (located between Ottawa and Toronto). As we had already paid the hotel, we were not able to cancel the last night but we went anyway. We booked a hotel in Kingston and we left. The trip lasted two hours, punctuated by a game of Trivial Pursuit (Iphone) won by Thibaut.
So our hotel is called "Peachtree Inn" and it's still better than in the lobby, it smells like fish. It made me laugh a lot. With fatigue, a little goes ... :-)
Once more, we had trouble finding a place to eat. We went to a Pizza Hut, thinking it was a safe bet, but in fact not at all. We were the only guests and the server had nothing to do with us. The cook and it did not seem very clear ...
In short, we're back at the hotel. Tomorrow we get up early to go visit soon and then off to Kingston to Toronto.

Walk in Ottawa

We cruised all afternoon in Ottawa. As Fred already knew the city for having stayed one month last summer, he showed us. We went to the side of the Parliament then in a big mall where we ate. After, we continued our walk in the streets. It was nice, especially since it was shining and the temperature was 10 °.
I finally bought mittens although I think they will not help me much here. By cons I struggled all day to withdraw cash. There are very few retailers that accept mastercard, better to have a visa when traveling abroad. I'll know for next time.
As Ottawa is Canada's capital, this is where are all the ministries and institutions like the court, the Supreme Court ... These are some beautiful buildings for the most part.
We have not yet had time to visit the city but Fred told us that Ottawa is quite small, smaller than Montreal for example. It's quite amazing when you consider that it's still the nation's capital.
We have noticed that the city is less dynamic than Montreal. But there are many museums and monuments to visit. Most people speak English but we come easily to our understanding.
We do not know yet what we will do tonight. Fred and Jeremiah are sleeping and I Thibaut and we take care of the washing (how interesting!). I will tell you our evening tomorrow. In the meantime, here are some pictures of Ottawa.

Welcome to Ottawa

Yesterday morning, surprises, Fred realized he had lost his backpack but can not remember where. We returned to the bar and restaurant where they had gone the day before but it did not work. So, we left Montreal to get to Ottawa. On the road, we stopped at Omega Park (http://www.parc-omega.com/fr/), a wildlife reserve. We saw caribou, bears, wolves, deer ... It was driving in the reserve and the animals were walking freely. We bought carrots before to feed them. We had to follow a plan but we missed the corner of Caribou. So we could only go all around the park. We spent about half past three in the car just for the park. We were exhausted. We hit the road to Ottawa and we had to take the ferry across the river.
After that, we went to drop our stuff at our hotel which is pretty good for the price. We made a good break and then we went to the cinema to see Alice in Wonderland (English) in IMAX 3D. The 3D effect was very impressive. We really saw the movie thoroughly. By against history, it was very Gentillet. The cartoon that we all know is scarier than that. You still need to see this film because it is very well done.
The day program has not yet been set. The session of the day was late (11:45 p.m.) So this morning we take our time.
To be continued ...

[Link] Montreal ...

Yesterday we started our day by going to the biosphere, place on sustainable development. It was interesting but we quickly made the rounds. Earlier this afternoon, we went in search of food and landed again in a sushi restaurant. It must be said that there is virtually it. For food, we should not be difficult. In Montreal, there are only chains of fast food restaurants. People eat in malls that make up the underground city. We had then planned to go to Mount Royal, but the guys go in late afternoon with a friend they had not seen for five years so we turned around. We went to join David, the friend, to Complexe Desjardins (shopping center) where we took a coffee taste. After, we wandered the streets and we joined the old harbor, which offered a beautiful view of the illuminated city. When hunger was felt, we went through the streets of Old Montreal and we came across the fashionweek Montreal. There were many people. We ate in a restaurant that served pasta (Thibaut to please) and we went back to the hotel. This morning, we set the alarm at 8:15 in order to optimize the maximum time allotted to us this last day on site. We started with the biodome, located next to the Olympic Park in Montreal. There were plenty of animals, it was interesting. Then we ate there and we went to the Insectarium (personally, I have not liked too, insects dead or alive, it's good 5 minutes) and the botanical garden. After that we went to Mount Royal offers a lovely view over the city. This is where we realize that Montreal is not such a big city in land area and buildings are relatively few. The initial program of the evening was to go to the planetarium at 20:30, preceded by a restaurant to eat lobster. The boys went there and I chose to do my personal evening. They dropped me in the car Sainte Catherine and I went to take the subway to the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal. There was a temporary exhibit called "Tiffany Glass". I do not know anything and I liked it. It was a variety show that included both paintings, various objects in glass, mosaics ... Thus, I tested the Montreal Metro is still a bit pricey ($ 2.75 per ticket) but there is no risk of being lost, it is indicated. I returned early to the hotel, I do not know what time they will return the boys to tell me their evening. Tomorrow, we head to Ottawa for a few days. On the road, we plan to go through a kind of zoo where we go by car and the animals move around freely. I hope we can see caribou because they were seen only on billboards but it's better than middle of the road. I will try to post pictures for you to see just how it is here. It's good to describe but it's even better to see. Tomorrow live from Ottawa! Original article

Departure from Quebec, arrived in Montreal

So for small news, Tuesday the guys returned to the island of Orleans while I was at the hotel, ill. In the evening we went for a drink in a little bar but desert. Around 21h we decided to go eat and we struggled to find a restaurant that is not closed and still serves that hour. We opted for a "bistro" and we got a burger or fish-&-chips. We got in quietly.
The next day, Wednesday, we left the hotel towards Montreal. We started back to our hotel that turns out to be well placed (in two steps from the Rue St. Catherine and a few minutes walk from the Latin Quarter). Our hotel is quite nice. We rented a suite, it does not look like really, but it suits us. We went for a walk on foot to Old Montreal: science center, shopping, Champs de Mars, City Hall ... This town has nothing to do with Quebec. This is much bigger, there are plenty of people. It is a city that moves, no doubt about it. We visited the tourist information center to get maps and organize our stay a little. The guys were hungry so we went around 18h eating in a mall because there are many here.
After, we went to the convention center lit at night and then we went to Rue Saint Denis in the CineRobotheque where we watched some short films for free during 1 hour. It was really nice. Saint Denis is at the heart of the Latin Quarter. This is where is the University and students. We went to a small bar where a group gave a concert. It was fun but we left pretty quickly and we started following a group to see what the young Canadian when they come out at night. They went to a Shisha bar but there was no room for us so we went to another bar following another group. Jeremiah and Fred have tested some alcoholic beers (13%).
Then we returned to the Shisha bar and there was room. It remained close to 2 hours but it felt good to be in this kind of place.
After that, we went back to sleep and this morning we got up early.
Today, the program responsible. Following tonight ...
